Shilpa Shetty IPL

Shilpa Shetty the co-owner of Rajastan Royals is looking forward to cheer her team in the new season of the Indian Premier League.  Shilpa is pregnant with her first child and she is hoping to cheer her team if only her doctors allow. Her due date is most probably next month. Married to London-based businessman Raj Kundra in Nov 2009, Shilpa has taken a break from acting and she is working on her spa and yoga business.

Shilpa thinks that it’s been four consecutive year of IPL but the combination and cricket and entertainment has not dried up. "It has been working for the last four editions and I think it (cricket and entertainment) is a deadly combo. I don't need to reiterate how entertainment really works with making the whole cricketing format suitable in terms of reducing the overs. Some people are against it but those who enjoy IPL are proof enough that it works," said Shilpa who became a Rajasthan Royals co-owner in Feb 2009.

Bollywood actress Vidya Balan has reportedly bagged the National Award in the Best Actress category for her performance in ‘The Dirty Picture’. While Girish Kulkarni has won the Best Actor award for ‘Deool’. The official announcement of the awards came out on March 7 in the capital. Director Onir's "I AM" was declared the best Hindi film at the 59th National Awards announced here, while Amitabh Bhattacharya won the best lyrics award for the song "Agar Zindagi" in the film. Shah Rukh Khan's superhero film "RA.One" was named for best special effects.

Madhuri unveils her new wax figure

Madame Tussauds  welcomed award-winning Bollywood actress Madhuri Dixit-Nene. Madhuri, famed for her dazzling dancing, was at the world famous attraction to unveil her stunning new wax figure in front of friends and family.The star of hit films including Devdas, Dil To Pagal Hai, Beta and M.f Hussain's Gaja Gamini is the sixth Bollywood celebrity to be honoured by Madame Tussauds London and only the second actress following Aishwarya Rai who entered the attraction back in 2004.

On meeting her double for the first time Madhuri commented "It is hard to imagine yourself like this and meeting my wax double today is very surreal, it feels like an out of body experience. I would like to congratulate the team at Madame Tussauds London as they have done a beautiful job!"

Madhuri was completely involved in the creation of her figure, attending a sitting in Mumbai where sculptors captured a catalogue of reference photographs and hundreds of precise measurements to create this staggering likeness. Madhuri also donated the exquisite sari her figure is wearing. The figure took four months to make at a cost of £150,000.
